In partnership with Griffith University, the Department of Education Autism Hub developed  a Guided Functional Behaviour Assessment Tool (GFBAT).

The GFBAT is an interactive online decision making tool designed to build the capability and confidence of school staff, especially teachers, to 'think functionally' about student behaviour.

The online FBA tool supports teachers and parents to identify the function of a targeted behaviour and implement associated evidence-based strategies to support a student to exhibit an identified desired behaviour.

The tool is designed to guide teachers to support the behaviour of all students including students with autism.

It is not intended for critical or challenging behaviour, rather it is designed with everyday behaviours in mind which have the potential to impact on student engagement and learning.

So, have you tried the tool yet? Explore the tool and its resources.
